Finned Type Radiator




Finned type radiator is the ideal cooling component for oi-immersed transformer, reactor and others. It has theadvantage

of saving oil, seal reliable, better radiating effect, handsome outline, easily installand maintenance.


1. Structure:

a. Fixed type : directly welded to transformer tank wall (Refer to Pic 1)

b. Disassembly type : connected with transformer tank by flange (Refer to Pic 2)

( Note: A-Central distance B-Fin thickness N-Fin numbers)


2. Cooling method:

a. Self-cooled: emanation heat through air convection

b. Fan-cooled: emanation heat through fan blowing (blowing from bottom or side)

c. Forced oil fan-cooled: emanation heat through forced oil circulation and fan blowing

4. Mark, packing, transportation and storage


Ex-works product should take quality certificate which mentioned specification, checker and manufacturing date. It will be packed by

wooden case for transportation. The outlet of collection pipe will be sealed by plastic cover. If custom request, the PC type radiator

can also be sealed by steel cover.

The radiator should be stored in the area which protect from rain, moisture, rust and mildew. The cover is prohibited to take away

before it is in operation.


5. Installation and operation:


5.1 Remove the cover of collection pipe before installation. For disassembly radiator, please distinguish the bottom and top collection pipe.

5.2 The space between radiators should not less than 50mm and keep suitable height of bottom collection pipe to the ground in order to air flowing.

5.3 For the erection of fixed radiator, make a hole at the side of tank according to outside diameter of connection pipe and central distance.

Weld the radiator to the side of tank. The weld should be at the outside of tank instead of inside to protect from the welding impurity and others.

5.4 For erection of disassembly radiators:
a. Choose the flange connector on transformer tank and suitable rubber gasket, bolt, nut & washer according to radiator central distance,

space distance between radiators and flange size. And choose tie rod, nut, bolt & washer according to space distance between radiators

and diameter 10 mm hole on the radiator connecting plate.
b. Lift the radiator againsttop and bottom fange, put on rubber gasket and bolt, fix the nearby radiator by tie rod. (Refer to Pic. 4)

c. Screw on oil drain plug and open the gas plug when flling oil. Screw on the air plug while oil flowing out.

d. There are supports to suspend fans on the bottom collection pipe when fan-cooled blowing from bottom. No supports for self-cooled type. One fan is for each two pieces of radiators. When the piece of radiators at one side is odd number,please make the arrangement as per Pic. 4. (Deploy the fan supports as per client's requirement.)

e. Install the fan on the suitable position of transformner tank when fan blowing from side. The fan position is as Pic.3.


6. Remark:


6.1 Be careful during transportation, erection and flushing. Not make the radiator oil duct shrink and damage.

6.2 If need to do sealing test before erection, the test pressure (inside pressure) should not exceed 0.12MPa.
